Gal 5:25-26 MSG
“Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives. That means we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse. We have far more interesting things to do with our lives. Each of us is an original”.
HolyGhost baptism doesn’t necessarily make a person more spiritual. There are many tongue talking believers who are still living a carnal life. Carnally minded doesn’t equate sinful lifestyle. It’s simply living in the realm of natural thoughts, commonsense, feelings and man’s wisdom and philosophy.
HolyGhost baptism only opens you up to the supernatural power of the Spirit working through us. It includes power of healing, miracles, faith, prophecy, tongue and interpretation, ministerial giftings, etc
But all of the above still doesn’t make one automatically ‘spiritual’.
Spirituality is seen more in the fruits of the Spirit.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith”,
Most times we hear non-believers criticizing. They point at a tongue-talking Christian saying: ‘Look at him (or her), she claims baptized in the HolyGhost but he still does this and that..?
My usual answer will be:
“Imagine what he or she would then have been without the Holy Spirit.
After the outpouring of the HolySpirit on the day of Pentecost, the Church didn’t automatically become perfect.
* Peter still had his moments of dis – emulation in Galatia which brought him into a head-on rebuke from Paul. (Gal 2:11-13).
* The Corinthian church still had sin issues.
(1 Cor 5:1)
* Carnal divisions and strife still persisted.
(1 Cor 3:3-4)
* Even Paul himself had a battle of ego and wits with Barnabas to the point of parting ways. (Acts 15:39.)
In conclusion, the Holy Spirit baptism is actually a launch – out into a life of being led by the HolyGhost. It is the equipping of the Believer to operate the endued powers of the New Creature.
A Believer can only become more spiritual by knowledge and understanding, and by coveting, cultivating and living out the fruits of the Spirit.
“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. ….
