The old way had a glory but this glory ultimately led to death. Moses’ face shone with this glory even though it was already fading away. Now, if this old way was considered glorious, how much glorious is the new way which makes us right with God. As a matter of fact, the first glory in comparison with the latter glory was not glorious at all. In the light of Jesus, everything becomes inferior, substandard. The old way was somewhat a palliative; a temporary measure until the real thing shows up.
“You did not want animal sacrifices…But you have given me a body to offer.” -Hebrews 10:5
God wasn’t pleased with the body and blood of animals. His will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ. Beloved, by that singular sacrifice, we have been made perfect. Halleluyah!
