Heb. 9:22
“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
The life of every living thing is in it’s blood.
Adam, the first man became a living soul when he sinned, and consequently, his flesh and blood got contaminated with a virus named “death”.
Rom 5:12
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
It was a man that sinned. By this token, sacrificing an animal to atone for man’s sin was only a mere shadow, a rehearsal so to say, of the real sacrifice that is to usher in the true deliverance from this virus of eternal death.
The Lord having proclaimed man’s deliverance after the fall in Gen 3:15, chose to commemorate it annually with animal sacrifice pending the appointed time.
Lev 17:11
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul”.
And make no mistake about it, this animal sacrifice delivered “as advertised “.
How do I know that?
From Baalam, the backsliden prophet.
He confessed that Israel couldn’t be cursed because Sin wasn’t found in them.
Num 23:21
“He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them”.
Animal blood did provide a cover for man’s sin, except it was for only one year.
And it couldn’t take Sin away permanently.
Heb 10:4
“For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins”.
Therefore, only a man’s blood will do it.
And there was no man qualified, because Adam’s stock has ‘de-graded’ through transgression.
If you offered Adam, you were only offering the blood of sin to cleanse sin. It ain’t gonna work.
A man with sinless blood will have to be sought out and brought to the slaughter, so his blood could make the proper atonement.
But where is the man with a sinless blood?
God himself answers this puzzle.
God will have to save man by himself, and since God cannot die, He’s got to become a man.
John 3:17:
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
That God sent his son Jesus is wholesome truth.
But tell that to a Muslim, he will tell you that God cannot have a child by a woman.
Tell that to a Roman Catholic and he will say ‘yeah’, but let’s also honour Mary the Virgin Mother of God.
A simple matter is made more complex.
But the Gospel is simple: “Christ crucified, buried and risen”. Period.
Christ answered that puzzle of Isaiah’s prophecy: “who shall we send”?
Heb 10:5
“Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me.”
So, it’s not that Christ is God is the deal. The big deal is that God became a man, Jesus Christ so as to redeem his fellows.
Jesus Christ is a different High Priest. He is not like Aaron, neither is he like even Melchizedec.
He was from the beginning a different priesthood, never having to first make atonement for his own sin before atoning for others; and
never having to obtain forgiveness by any other but by his own blood.
Heb. 9:12:
“Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us”.
There’s indeed no better window to view and grasp the love of ABBA, than that God became a man, Christ Jesus.
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, THE MAN Christ Jesus;”
(1Tim 2:5)
It is Jesus. The lamb slain from the foundation of the world, whose sinless blood speaks better things than the blood of Abel.
(Heb 12:24).
It is he, who is worthy to open the seals.
(Rev 5:5)
It is He who made himself of no reputation, but instead took upon him the form of a servant.
(Phil 2:7)
He was made in the likeness of men so that the blood of a man will atone for the sins of men.
It is he who made peace through the blood of his cross, to reconcile all things unto himself.
(Col.1:20)
It is he who has brought and is still bringing many sons unto glory.
(Heb 2:9-10)
God becoming a man Christ Jesus and shedding sinless blood is so central to the Gospel that we’re are warned to tag anything contrary to it as the “antichrist”.
1 John 4:3
“And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world”.
