FEELING – THE ENEMY OF FAITH

2 Cor 4:18
“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal”.

What do you see?
The Lord asked this of the Prophets- Jeremiah  (Jer 1:13), Amos (Amos 7:8), Zechariah  (Zech 5:2).
Why is what you see so crucial in your walk with God?
It’s because your sight is the doorway to your heart. How you see determines how you feel.

Did you know that fear is a feeling?  That sin – condemnation is a feeling? Oh, did you also know that you cannot attain God’s purpose for your life through a feeling? No, the grace of God is activated through knowledge.

2 Peter 1:2
“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord”.
The word “see” in our text is not limited to only your two eyes. It goes beyond the eyes. It includes your mind’s eye, your perceptions, your deductions and your understanding of things. That is why two people can be looking at the same thing, but their perceptions or deductions can be completely different. The 10 spies saw the sons of Anak as giants, whilst Joshua and Caleb saw them as ‘bread-and-butter’.
The armies of Israel saw Goliath as a conqueror, whilst David saw him as an ‘ un-circumcised dog’.

Last week,  I was discussing something with my wife and suddenly I spoke something strong that hit me like a blow, and I guess it was a harder blow to her. I said to her: ” God is not protecting me. I don’t need to pray or seek God’s protection “. WHY?
BECAUSE  I am in Christ,  and Christ is in God. Should I be praying to God to protect himself?
Col 3:3
“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”

I am of God. I am an extension of the Godhead because Christ dwells now inside of me, and in Him dwelleth the Godhead bodily. (Col 2:9).

Beloved,  you can’t walk with God beyond what you see. When you look at yourself in the mirror, do you see “a-sinner-saved-by-grace”? OR “a son, a second begotten of God through Christ Jesus”? It makes all the difference.
Do you see the enemy coming at you with all demons forces to eat you up?
Or do you see the “Lion of the tribe of Judah who has prevailed on your behalf”.
CONCLUSION :
“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man”.
Hebrews 2:9 KJV
